The Canvas on Broadway

The Canvas on Broadway was a social painting studio in Columbia, Missouri that was women-owned and celebrated its 10th birthday in 2022. For this occasion I was hired to create a new website and to refresh the logo for the studio.

For the logo refresh I wanted to keep things very close to the original in order to keep brand continuity, while giving a slightly more updated feel. I switched to a more modern brush script with variable widths, and I made some subtle modifications to the wineglass image to match. I wanted to move away from the feeling of fixed weight lines common in early vector designs that feel very computer-generated, and more toward a feel of handmade for this studio that focuses on creating relaxing opportunities for people to explore their inner artist.
